Background:

SA8000 standard is one of the world’s first international standard for social accountability management system certification developed by Social Accountability International (SAI). The 2014 edition of the standard was published in June 2014, and allows a transition period from Sep 1, 2015 to Dec 31, 2016. From Sep 1, 2015, all SA8000 certification and recertification audits shall be conducted according to SA8000: 2014 and all existing certification to SA8000: 2008 shall transition to SA8000: 2014 by Dec 31, 2016.
Upgrading certificate from SA8000:2008 to SA8000:2014 has entered the final countdown.
